Double-ended fault location
Locates a fault from records captured at both ends of the line, using incremental (delta) quantities in the time domain. The three phase-to-phase loops are solved together, so no faulted loop has to be selected and the zero-sequence impedance is never used. Fault resistance does not affect the result, arcing and evolving faults are handled without special logic, and the window can be as short as half a cycle — short enough for faults cleared by ultra-high-speed relays before a phasor would ever settle.
Results are experimental and must be independently verified before any operational use.
