The Pi collector stores deadband‑compressed synchrophasor history: a record is written only when a signal leaves its deadband, plus periodic heartbeats. Quiet stretches are therefore sparse by design — the straight lines between heartbeats are an assertion that nothing happened, not interpolated data.
